Hotel Guest Wants Kids in His Room, Water Balloon Attacks, and Other Cop Calls

A selection of reports from Lake Forest to the county Sheriff's Department from July 15 to July 19.

A man inviting children into his hotel room Monday night prompted an observant person to call police.

At about 8:50 p.m., the caller reported that a man in boxer briefs at a hotel on the 23700 block of Rockfield Boulevard had asked two children to come into his room. The man said he was from Dubai, the caller added.

Suspicious person in vehicle. 2:14 a.m. Tuesday. 27100 block of Towne Centre Drive.

Disturbance. 6:26 p.m. Monday. Ridge Route Drive and El Rond Lane. A resident said a group of 10 juveniles were knocking over portable bathrooms and tearing down park equipment.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 5:09 p.m. Monday. 24800 block of Rollingwood Road. A caller reported that a woman had left a flier on her door offering free food and toys for children that the caller found suspicious.

Disturbance. 12:09 p.m. Monday. 23800 block of Rockfield Boulevard. A caller said she found a person against whom she has a restraining order sitting on the hood of her car.

Disturbance. 11:17 p.m. Sunday. Bake Parkway and Rancho Parkway. A driver reported that people were dropping balloons onto cars from an overpass.

Non-cohabitant domestic violence. 8:08 p.m. Sunday. 20700 block of El Toro Road. Deputies responding to a domestic violence call arrested a 42-year-old man and placed him in custody at the Central Men’s Jail with no bail set.

Traffic stop. 8:05 p.m. Sunday. 21100 block of Canada Road. A 44-year-old man was arrested during a traffic stop and was placed in custody at the Central Men’s Jail with no bail set.

Reckless driving. 8:05 p.m. Sunday. Rockfield Boulevard and Lake Forest Drive. A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving and placed in custody at the Central Men’s Jail with no bail set.

Disturbance. 5:56 p.m. Sunday. Peachwood and Tamarisk. A resident asked deputies to check for a group of 15 kids who knocked down a street sign.

Suspicious person in vehicle. 5:20 p.m. Sunday. El Toro Road and Arbor Way. Deputies responding to a suspicious-person report arrested a 25-year-old man and placed him in custody at the Central Men’s Jail on $50,000 bail.

Disturbance—music or party. 12:13 a.m. Sunday. Rockfield Boulevard and Cavanaugh Road. A resident said a group of kids were smoking marijuana and drinking as they strolled around the neighborhood.

Suspicious person in vehicle. 9:49 p.m. Saturday. 21700 block of Eveningside Lane. Deputies responding to a suspicious-person report arrested a 27-year-old man and placed him in custody at the Central Men’s Jail with no bail set.

Burglary report. 8:18 p.m. Saturday. 26500 block of Normandale Drive. A resident said she arrived home to find her home burglarized.

Disturbance. 1:53 p.m. Saturday. 23400 block of Cavanaugh Road. A caller said five men drinking in the area were harassing passersby.

Warrant arrest. 9:13 a.m. Saturday. 23300 block of Dune Mear Road. Deputies serving a warrant arrested a 38-year-old woman and placed her in custody at the Orange County Jail with no bail set.

Traffic stop. 12:45 a.m. Saturday. Bake Parkway and Towne Centre Drive. A 51-year-old man was arrested during a traffic stop and placed into custody at the Orange County Jail, where he was cited and released.

Warrant arrest. 11:30 p.m. Friday. 20200 block of Lake Forest Drive. Deputies serving a warrant arrested a 22-year-old man and placed him in custody at the Central Men’s Jail with no bail set.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 11:11 p.m. Friday. 23700 block of El Toro Road. Deputies responding to a suspicious-person report arrested a 18-year-old man and placed him in custody at the Orange County Jail, where he was cited and released.

Traffic stop. 9:28 p.m. Friday. El Toro Road and Rockfield Boulevard. A 30-year-old man was arrested during a traffic stop and placed in custody at the Musick facility. He was released for undisclosed reasons.

Assist outside agency. 7:31 p.m. Friday. 0 block of Enfilade Avenue. Deputies arrested a 21-year-old man and placed him in custody at the Central Men’s Jail with no bail set.
