Missing Saddleback Professor Found

After going AWOL in August, Amy Ahearn of Lake Forest reportedly turns up in South-Central L.A.

A Saddleback College professor who mysteriously vanished in August was found in South-Central Los Angeles late Friday, her family said.

According to a report by Los Cerritos Community News, Amy Ahearn, 40, was discovered around 10 p.m. by the Los Angeles Police Department and didn't appear to be physically injured. Her condition was under evaluation at a hospital, the news site said.

Ahearn, who taught English at Saddleback, had been , the day the fall semester began at Saddleback. In September, she was reportedly spotted in Norwalk but from there the trail went cold.

In recent years, she had begun acting strangely, students said. Her family indicated she might be suffering from a delusional disorder or Huntington's disease.

Ahearn was in the process of divorcing Cerritos College English professor Timothy Juntilla when she was reported missing, Los Cerritos Community News said.
