PHOTOS: Dramatic Bus Fire in Laguna Woods, No One Injured

A bus driver in Laguna Woods had just dropped off his last passenger today when it a mechanical failure caused it to burst into flames.

"The driver noticed some smoke coming from the engine," said Capt. Steve Concialdi. of the Orange County Fire Authority.

Firefighters got the call from Laguna Woods security of a bus on fire on Calle Aragon, he said. By the time they arrived, it was fully involved.

The bus, a 2008 International made by Ameritrans, became engulfed and is considered a total loss, with damages estimated to be $225,000. 

No one was injured.
