Knife-Tossing Men and Other Suspicious Activity

The following is a selection of calls from Lake Forest to the Orange County Sheriff's Department from April 22 to April 26.

Two men were seen throwing a large hunting knife at a tree by the greenbelt near the 25200 block of Baja Mar. The call was made around 5:13 p.m. Saturday. The tree was unavailable for comment.

Vandalism. 1:04 p.m. Tuesday. 22200 block of Newbridge Drive.

Warrant arrest. 8:01 a.m. Tuesday. 25600 block of Rimgate Drive. A 46-year-old man was arrested for an outstanding warrant and was in custody at Orange County Jail on $15,000 bail.

Suspicious person in vehicle. 1:39 a.m. Tuesday. Rockfield Boulevard and El Toro Road.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 12:32 p.m. Monday. Pauling and Lake Forest Drive.

Disturbance. 10:57 p.m. Sunday. 22700 block of Centre Drive. Police responding to a disturbance call arrested a 34-year-old woman and placed her in custody at Orange County Jail on $500 bail.

Traffic accident, unknown injuries. 10:30 p.m. Sunday. Rockfield Boulevard and El Toro Road. A 52-year-old engineer was arrested and placed in custody at Orange County Jail where she was cited and released.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Portola Parkway and Paloma. A caller said a man driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee went up to the end of the street and grabbed two black plastic bags.

Disturbance. 11:26 a.m. Sunday. 24900 block of Rivendell Drive. A resident said kids were shooting at his house with a pellet gun.

Traffic stop. 3:36 a.m. Sunday. Lantern Lane and Loganberry Lane. A 27-year-old man was arrested during a traffic stop and placed in custody at Orange County Jail. He was released when he posted bail.

Burglary report. 7:49 p.m. Saturday. 23100 block of Los Alisos Boulevard. A 27-year-old man was arrested and placed in custody at Central Men’s Jail with no bail.

911 hangup-wireless. 7:16 p.m. Saturday. 21300 block of Lake Forest Drive. A 26-year-old man was arrested and placed in custody at Central Men’s Jail on $100,000 bail. That was an expensive phone call.

Disturbance. 2:17 p.m. Saturday. 24900 block of Muirlands Boulevard. Police responding to a disturbance call arrested a 72-year-old woman after she reportedly struck some cars with a metal object. Deputies placed her in custody at Orange County Jail where she was later released under her own recognizance.

Hit and run misdemeanor. 7:30 a.m. Saturday. Trabuco Road and Lake Forest Drive. Police responding to a hit-and-run call arrested a 20-year-old inspector and placed him in custody at Orange County Jail. He was cited and released.

Burglary in progress. 5:35 a.m. Saturday. 21000 block of Champlain. A caller said she heard a crashing sound downstairs, like someone trying to open and close the curtains.

Disturbance. 10:47 p.m. Friday. 23100 block of Los Alisos Boulevard. We're disturbed that no other details were available.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 8:34 p.m. Friday. 21600 block of Canada Road.

Disturbance. 5:01 p.m. Friday. 22000 block of Bellcroft Drive.

Investigate person down. 4:11 p.m. Friday. 26300 block of Forest Ridge Drive. Police arrested a 42-year-old man and placed him in custody at Orange County Jail. He was released when he posted bail.
