Scores of boys from Orange County, including Lake Forest, have come forward as alleged victims of a former Capistrano Valley Christian high school history teacher and baseball coach.
Zachary Joshua Reeder, 30, allegedly posed as a teenage girl on Facebook to lure boys into sending him sexually explicit photos. In the wake of the allegations, Reeder was fired from all-boys Servite High in Anaheim, where he was a social science teacher since Fall 2008.
He was also a walk-on baseball coach at Beckman High in Irvine through last year. Beckman competes in the Pacific Coast League, which includes Corona del Mar in south Orange County. Servite is part of the Trinity League, which includes Santa Margarita Catholic and JSerra.
The Irvine Police Department indicates at least 70 victims have come forward in the growing child pornography case against Reeder, who was fired immediately by Servite after notification of his arrest Saturday. A resident of Orange, he posted a $1 million bail on Wednesday.
The Orange County district attorney's office said well over 100 felony counts have been filed against Reeder, including distributing pornography to a minor, contacting a child with the intent to commit a lewd act, using a minor for sex acts, committing a lewd act upon a child, control possession and control of child pornography, and bringing obscene matter into California.
The district attorney expects more victims to come forward. Those who may have been victims can contact investigator Anthony Sosnowski at 714-834-8794 or Irvine police Detective Frough Jahid at 949-724-7184.
