Slow Response Time? He'll Do it Himself

A man grows frustrated when his call for police services goes unanswered, but he gets a response when he threatens to do something drastic.

A Lake Forest resident who didn’t think police services were responding fast enough to his complaint offered to arm himself and do the job on his own, a threat that got deputies to take notice quickly.

It happened early Saturday morning, about 2:40 a.m.

According to the blotter of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, the informant reported a vehicle, occupied by at least two subjects, parked in front of his residence for quite a while with the headlights on.

About 34 minutes later, the informant called back to say the car and its occupants were still in front of his residence. He the offered an ultimatum: If the deputies will not show up, he would arm himself and confront the subjects in the vehicle on his own.

The 9-1-1 operator stressed that he shouldn’t do that, but should instead stay inside the house and deputies would be dispatched as soon as possible—in this case, three minutes later.

They arrived at the location on the 24300 block of Fordview and arrested a 26-year-old woman with an outstanding warrant.

These reports were culled from the Orange County Sheriff's website. Not all facts in each report are made public; the outcome of the report may differ from the original blotter item. There should be no assumption of guilt based on this limited information.
