A 41-year-old man was killed and two people were injured in a rollover crash Thursday afternoon on Interstate 5 south of El Toro Road.

The deadly crash, which began in the HOV lane, shut down southbound traffic for two hours, resulting in a traffic jam that extended several miles, according to Officer Troy Christensen of the California Highway Patrol.

The decedent, identified by the Orange County Coroner as Charles Holguin III of Los Angeles, was in the front passenger seat and was not wearing a seat belt when the driver of the Ford Expedition lost control of the vehicle.

The SUV rolled multiple times, authorities said, coming to rest facing the northwest while straddling the HOV and No. 1 lane.
