Woman Arrested After Scuffle Near Marijuana Dispensaries

She punched a security guard and spat on a cop, police say.

Police arrested a 23-year-old woman Tuesday on suspicion of assaulting a security guard and a police officer and resisting arrest, said Sgt. Angel Andrade of Lake Forest Police Services.

A call came in at 7:56 p.m. reporting a verbal disturbance between a woman and a security guard in the shopping center on the 24600 block of Raymond Way, where many medical marijuana dispensaries are located. The woman had been asking for marijuana, Andrade said. While en route, police were notified that the situation had escalated into a physical fight.

The woman and the security guard were both on the scene when police arrived, Andrade said. The guard said the woman had punched him in the face. When deputies approached the woman, she spat on one of them and tried to break away from his grasp, authorities said. She was brought to the ground, handcuffed and taken into the patrol car. Police described the woman as agitated, going from belligerent to crying.

"Her mood was fluctuating from cooperative to uncooperative, angry to sad," Andrade said.

The woman had a scratch on her forehead and was examined by the Orange County Fire Authority and then released back to police. Felicia Marie Moberly, 23, was booked at the Orange County Jail on suspicion of assault and battery of the security guard, assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest.
