Woman Goes Missing in Santa Ana but Returns Home

The following is a selection of calls from Lake Forest to the Orange County Sheriff's Department from March 25 to March 29.

An AAA employee told police that a woman had called them from South  Evergreen Street in Santa Ana, saying her burgundy Honda Accord had broken down. While on the phone with AAA, she said there was a man bothering her. The AAA worker heard scuffles and sounds of trouble and then called police at around 2:12 a.m. Saturday.

Santa Ana police investigated and said a witness on Evergreen reported hearing a female screaming for help and yelling that she was being raped. Lake Forest police were dispatched to the Lake Forest residence at the 25600 block of Orchard Rim Lane listed in the woman's AAA membership info, but she wasn't there, and her father said he wasn't able to contact her.

Police took a missing-adult report for a 20-year-old woman from the Orchard Rim residence at around 4:04 p.m. Saturday, said Sgt. Angel Andrade of Lake Forest Police Services. She was reported to have returned at 10:53 a.m. Sunday.
