City OKs New Auto Repair Shop

The Lake Forest Planning Commission approved the operation of S&C Pro Automotive, a sister business to Sea Country Towing.

Sea Country Towing owner Darius Pirnazar will soon join the other entrepreneurs of Lake Forest with the opening of his second business, the small vehicle repair shop S&C Pro Automotive.

Pirnazar got approval to relocate his towing company from Laguna Hills to Lake Forest back in July, with terms of approval that permitted him to also conduct maintenance on the business’ 18-truck fleet. Service on customers’ cars was not allowed under the terms of the permit.

Since then, increasing rental fees spurred Pirnazar's interest in moving the small auto operation from Laguna Hills as well, planning to consolidate it with the newly-relocated Sea Country Towing at 20611 Prism Place.

This week the Planning Commission unanimously voted in favor of modifying Pirnazar’s terms of approval to allow the second business' operation as well.

With the updated permit, Pirnazar has the go-ahead to service customers’ vehicles at the shop in the space previously meant for the maintenance of his own 18-truck fleet, with the provision that all cars must be worked on indoors.

“I see no problem with [the consolidation],” Commissioner Tom Hughes said. “As long as the cars are stored inside, it seems like a good move.”

Also at the Planning Commission meeting:

  • The subdivision of the property shared by Weinerschnitzel and Chapman Family Dentistry on Lake Forest Drive was approved. The owner of the eatery asked for the split in order to purchase the land and building instead of continuing to rent. A parcel map will come before the Lake Forest City Council for final approval of the split.
  • The commissioners discussed a tentative tract map for the Serrano Summit development and requested a more detailed site plan for the next such meeting, such as more specific measurements for the proposed retaining wall and landscaping.

The next Planning Commission meeting is Oct. 27 at at 7 p.m.
