City Promotes Weeklong Shopping, Dining Discounts

Starting Sunday, Shop & Dine Lake Forest Week involves more than 200 restaurants, services and retailers.

More than 200 Lake Forest shops, restaurants and service providers are offering discounts and other promotions as part of Shop & Dine Lake Forest Week, which runs from Sunday to Aug. 14.

The event is being promoted by the city of Lake Forest.

“We have great shopping and dining options in Lake Forest,” said Mayor Peter Herzog. “When our residents and businesses spend their money locally, it benefits the local owners, managers and employees and keeps tax dollars here in the city.”

Shop & Dine Lake Forest Week kicks off Sunday with live music, balloons, face painting, raffle prizes and family-friendly entertainment from noon to 3 p.m. at the Foothill Ranch Towne Centre, located at the corner of Bake Parkway and Towne Centre Drive.

The grand prizes include a 42-inch HD Vizio TV and one-year membership to LA Fitness.

The closing celebration on Aug. 14 will feature music and entertainment at The Orchard from noon to 3 p.m., a live broadcast by Playlist 92.7, giveaways, and more raffle prizes including an Apple iPad as the grand prize.

A variety of retailers and restaurants are taking part, from automotive, banking, finance and pet services to restaurants and specialty shops. A complete list of participating businesses can be found at www.lakeforestbusiness.com.

The city will promote the campaign through events, advertising and mailings. Residents will receive a print booklet featuring all of the discounts, promotions and savings.

Sponsors of the event include , Walmart, LA Fitness, Loan Depot, Oakley, , Boneheads, Playlist 92.7, The Orchard, and the Foothill Ranch Towne Centre.
