New Rock Climbing Gym Wins OK

Aesthetic Climbing Gym gets a unanimous go-ahead to open in a Vista Terrace building.

A new rock climbing center is opening in an industrial building on Vista Terrace.

Aesthetic Climbing Gym got a 4-0 vote of approval Thursday evening from the Lake Forest Planning Commission. (Commissioner Terry Anderson was absent.)

The 10,220-square-foot facility, at 26794 Vista Terrace, sits in a building off Lake Forest Drive that also houses Wallachs, a commercial flooring installer, and TruMotion, a small fitness center.

The climbing gym will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the weekend.

Inside the facility, a 4,321-square-foot warehouse space will be divided into three different indoor rock climbing areas for different skill levels. Total climbing surface area will be 6,250 square feet.

Small yoga classses will also be offered in a 1,069-square-foot office area that will be converted to a studio. Classes will be held Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon and from 9 a.m. to noon on the weekends.
