Families who were hoping to leave town early for Easter vacation may have to reconsider.
On Tuesday night, Saddleback Valley Unified officials rejiggered the 2012-13 school calendar, canceling furlough day holidays on Good Friday, March 29, and Tuesday, May 28, the day after Memorial Day.
The change came after multiple public hearings and negotiations with three employee unions.
School district spokeswoman Tammy Blakely said, "I understand the short notice and the difficulty with plans that may have been made."
