An Epic Showdown for El Toro High School Dodgeball Tournament Finale
After six weeks of wacky competition, a dodge ball champion is crowned at El Toro High.
El Toro junior Logan Chappell and his Team Alabama cohorts clutched their trophies triumphantly Friday afternoon. With Team Rachel succumbing in the final round, the crazy, just-for-fun 7th annual dodge ball tournament was over. This year, a record 85 teams competed.
"We all came together really well as a team," Chappell said. "We each had our games that were pretty spectacular."
Over the course of six weeks, games were played during snack and lunch breaks before large crowds in the lower quad.

But dodge ball was only half the equation. Students also donned wacky uniforms and conjured creative team titles. The Studmuffins, Caddy Shack, Toy Boat Toy Boat Toy Boat and other squads all provided between-class entertainment.
"Everyone was just rooting on the side for their team, and it was just a lot of fun," said senior and tournament organizer Chad Hennings.
