OC Tennis Team Takes 2nd at USTA

The adult mixed-doubles tennis squad, which includes players from Lake Forest, Newport Coast and Ladera Ranch, lost in the championship match.

An Irvine tennis team finished second at the U.S. Tennis Association League 10.0 Adult Mixed Doubles National Championships in Tucson, according to the USTA.

The Irvine team, representing the USTA Southern California Section, lost 3-0 to a team from Washington, D.C., in the championship match. Last Saturday afternoon, it defeated a team from Sarasota, Fla., 2-1 in the semifinals. The team had won its round-robin flight Friday and Saturday.

Team members include Deidre Wilson (Lake Forest), Michael Duong (Newport Coast), Quynh N. Le (Irvine), Bryn Mercado (Irvine), Laurent Dropsy (Irvine) and William G. Casas (Ladera Ranch). They play at Lower PetersCanyon Community Park.

The USTA League Mixed Doubles is for males and females 18 and older. Teams are formed by combining the two player’s individual National Tennis Rating Program (NTRP) ratings.

The USTA League began in 1980. More than 835,000 players across the nation are in the league.

I believe it is time we had representation that understands what it means to serve. Because, afterRead More all, isn't a House Member's job to serve the people of his/her district? And who understands service better than a former Marine Corps Colonel? I briefly met Colonel Raths yesterday and it is my belief that he is doing this for all the right reasons and will provide what has been missing in Congress for far too long---INTEGRITY, HONESTY, PATRIOTISM, SELFLESSNESS & SERVICE. And if I heard correctly, yesterday, he has already hired the best possible company, a company with an extremely innovative and intelligent leader, to run his campaign. This company will serve him well and when the facts come about about Greg Raths, the people of the 45th District will have the easiest choice at the polls in quite some time. This is the man who will do the right thing for his district 10 times out of 10. Go Greg! When you find out the amazingly wonderful things he has done for his country, there really is no choice. Colonel Greg Raths USMC Retired for Congress, 2014.
