Skate Park Wraps Up Summer with Campout, Changes Hours for Fall

More than 200 skaters slept over at Etnies Skatepark last weekend.

A well-attended campout at Etnies Skatepark of Lake Forest last weekend marked the end of the summer skateboarding season at the popular public park.

More than 200 skaters spent the night trying out , listening to music, snacking and watching skate movies.

The event is the last this summer for the Lake Forest skate park, which has brought both locals and out-of-towners to the park this summer with a variety of community get-togethers, including ,  and a number of .

While the park was open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily this summer, its fall hours go into effect this week.

The schedule reduces the weekly hours available for skateboarding by 10, from 84 per week to 74.

Here's the new schedule:

  • Monday-Thursday: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Friday: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Sunday: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
