Disaster Cleanup Company Gets New Digs

ServiceMaster Restoration AAA moved to a recently purchased building in Lake Forest after leasing for 13 years.

A local company that cleans up the aftermath of fires, floods and other disasters is settling in Lake Forest for the long term.

After leasing a building for 13 years, ServiceMaster Restoration AAA recently purchased a permanent home for the company in a commercial complex on Rancho Circle.

Local businesspeople and city government representatives attended a midday celebration Friday marking the business' move with a ribbon-cutting celebration, hosted by the .

The disaster restoration company also needed additional room for its operations, and the new building fits the bill, said Michael Demeter, company president. Demeter said he searched for about two years before selecting the 28 Rancho Circle offices.

At Friday's gathering, Mayor Peter Herzog thanked the company for its continued investment in Lake Forest. Herzog called the company's decision to purchase the new building, instead of simply renting one larger, a "display of confidence" in Lake Forest.

He also noted that ServiceMaster has a long tradition of supporting the community's needy; a commitment which continued Friday with a canned-food collection at the ribbon cutting, its donations slated for the  food pantry in Lake Forest.
